Virgin London Marathon 2013 · 21 April 2013 ·

Bumblebees are in decline because of a loss of their habitats. Our landscape is changing, over 97% of the UK's grasslands have been lost in the past 70 years. We work to put much needed flowers back into the countryside to benefit our bumblebees and other wildlife.

Story

For me the London Marathon is all about the crowd, dressing up and trying to raise some money for charity; I thought that it would be fun to try and break a world record at the same time. So this year I am going to dress up as a bee and try and become the fastest person to run a marathon dressed as an insect.

I have chosen to raise money for the Bumblebee Conservation Trust because the bumblebee is in great decline due to changes in their habitat and as Einstein was reported to have said ‘If honey bees died out, mankind would only have four years to live’.

The current record stands at 3hr 32mins 41secs my training has not been going well due to injuries so please be generous to help get me around. Thank you :-)
