Palace to Palace 2018 · 7 October 2018 ·

The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I really appreciate you clicking through after your amazing generosity supporting my half marathon effort earlier this year.

2018 is a year of challenges as not only will have run further than I ever have done - but I am also learning to cycle - on a deadline as I am taking part in Palace to Palace on Sunday 7th October!!! This in a way is a bigger challenge, as whilst I was bad at running, I could run and so far I have yet to ride 45 yards unaided let alone 45 miles with "wobbly" being an understatement to describe my riding style.

But the challenges I am facing are nothing compared to the people that the Princes Trust help - people like Simon who are completely inspirational in what they achieve with their life with help from the Princes Trust - when I heard his story, I knew I needed to "get on my bike" - find out more here:  https://www.princes-trust.org.uk/about-the-trust/success-stories/simon-hyett

Oh, I am beginning to hate the phrase:  "It is just like learning to ride a bike" and I ache in places that really cannot be mentioned! For that alone, I am truly grateful for your support for this great cause!

A huge thank you also to my friends who are supporting my endeavour, providing equipment (including a bike!), encouraging me or planning to ride with me but mostly for listening to my complaints... I hope these stop soon... and to Trevor who has to be the most patient instructor alive!
