Story
Hi, I work as an Apprentice Youth Worker for The Phoeonix Group for Deaf Children, a charity based in Stevenage.
During Deaf Awareness week which runs from 2nd to 8th May 2011, I will be wearing ear moulds which will reduce my ability to hear. That means I will be unable to listen to music, unable to talk on my mobile and be unable to hear what anyone says to me.
I have been to the Audiology dept to have the moulds made and have asked that they are bright blue, I want people to see the moulds and experience how people interact with me. I think its is really important for me to experience this as although I have recently taken my level one sign langauge exam but I have never experienced a hearing inpediment.
I would be grateful for any sponsers.
