My fundraising is for a two week trip to Africa in June 2014 as part of a group of 20 students from the society RAG (Raise and Give) at the University of Leeds.

In the first week, we'll be in Kenya working closely with Moving Mountains to teach Maths and English to children and helping build a secondary school, next to the primary school already built by Moving Mountains as part of their one of their sustainable development projects.

The next week is the big climb, with five days allocated to reach the summit and two to get back down. This will be a massive personal challenge for me, but I'm determined to make it to the top!

Of the £2,300 I am hoping to raise through sponsorships and other fundraising events, £1,225 will go straight to the charity  whilst the remaining money is put towards aiding with park fees - I will still be paying for flights, visas, accomodation etc myself.
