Some time ago I made a somewhat questionable decision to take part in the Great North Run 2010. Six months on and it is almost upon me....!

So on September 19th 2010, I will be fastening those running shoes to attempt the gruelling 13.2miler in the vain hope that I can achieve not only a very personal challenge; but also to raise as much money as possible for a very special charity, Meningitis UK.

Meningitis is a terrifying disease which can kill in less than four hours and tragically is most prevalent in children and young people. Meningitis UK's 'Search 4 a Vaccine Campaign' aims to raise £7 million to help fund cutting-edge research to develop a vaccine against meningitis B, which causes almost 90% of cases in the UK. There is currently no vaccine. 

So I'm kindly asking for you to dig deep in support of helping me raise as many pennies as possible to a very worth while cause. 

If you would like to help in any small way possible I would very much appreciate your support. I'm sure it's going to be an excruciating event, but nevertheless truly rewarding.
