Yes, you did just read that right. I'm abandoning the stilettos for one day only and forcing my pampered tootsies into one of the ugliest pairs of shoes known to woman and clambering 25 miles up three very big hills within 12 hours in the name of charity.

I'm hoping to raise at least £150 for the South Cleveland Heart Fund, a really great North-East charity, with my efforts. The fund raises cash to improve the cardic unit at James Cook University Hospital. All the funding goes directly to this very worthy cause, saving hundreds of lives every year by buying vital staff, equipment and training for the unit.

This little venture may seem rather out of character for me, but I'm totally committed to completing the walk as it's such a fantastic cause. Two of my late grandparents received treatment for angina there and my boyfriend's mum is a nurse at the unit. I'm doing the walk with about 20 of the unit's members of staff and other supporters, so hopefully we will raise a lot of money for this very worthy charity.
