Providence Row tackles the root causes of homelessness to help people get off, and stay off, the streets. We work with over 1800 homeless and vulnerably housed people a year in East London, offering an integrated service of crisis support, advice, recovery, learning and training programmes.

Story

1,000km is 621 miles, 23.8 marathons, 121 miles more than the lifespan of a typical pair of running shoes and 18 miles more than a straight line from Land's End to John o' Groats.

Over 100 days, it's an average of 10k every day - for over three months. Miss a day, and I'm on the hook for the best part of a half marathon the next day.

So why do it? Well, more and more people ask for sponsorship for marathons, half marathons or even a single 10k. I thought this might be a fresh way to approach running sponsorship a bit differently.

And most importantly, I'm supporting the outstanding work of Providence Row Charity, whose aim is to help people get off - and stay off - the streets. So please give generously!

I'm starting on 1st March, and will be tracking my distances using a GPS watch and the "Run Keeper" app. Regular updates on here and on Facebook!
