Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I will be running the Florence Marathon on 25 November and as part of the training the Bologna Half Marathon on 16 September to raise money for the Hughes Syndrome Foundation (and loose the 15kgs of wine and pasta I have taken since being in Italy).

Sara, my wife, has been diagnosed with Hughes Syndrome. It has basically incapacitated her for the last 8 months and as it is a relatively newly identified condition it took time to diagnose. She has started treatment and hopefully the condition will stablise and she can return a normal active life.

If not diagnosed Hughes Syndrome can case strokes and other life threatening events.

The foundation is raising awareness and funding research into this condition - helping people get diagnosed earlier - and educating people like the Consultant Neurologist who told Sara her regular collpases were due to stress and the solution was to breath into a paper bag!

Thank you for supporting this.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
