In January 2017 we lost a beautiful and strong woman who should have remained a core part of our lives into our old age. Joe's sister Tam passed away after being diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer over two years beforehand.

Tam underwent three different types of Chemotherapy and defied all the odds to enjoy two and a half years of wonderful life with her husband and daughters. However, the treatment available was eventually just not enough to halt the disease. She was only 40 years old.

Currently Pancreatic Cancer receives only 1% of overall Cancer Research funding. While other Cancers have seen a dramatic increase in survival rates over the past forty years, Pancreatic Cancer survival remains at 3%. We want to help fund the research that could find a way to change that.

In August 2018 we will set out from Falmouth with our boots on and our hoods up to tackle the five hundred mile round trip, taking in the Two Moors Way and walking the coastal path around the most southerly tip of the UK, heading back to Falmouth. We will aim to walk up to 25 miles a day but will also need to give ourselves days of rest. We aim to have completed the circuit by the end of August.

This is to raise much needed funds for a very important aspect of Cancer Research but it will also help us to heal and feel empowered in facing such loss. Cancer can make you feel helpless- grief can leave you flattened- we will walk our way out.
