Thanks for visiting my justGiving page for Oxfam Ireland's Climb Kilimanjaro 2011.
On 25th February I will be setting off with 19 other people to Climb Kilimanjaro to raise funds for Oxfam Ireland's work.
At 5,896m above sea level, Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest free-standing mountain in the world. Climbing Kilimanjaro will be a big challenge, both physically and mentally demanding, but with preparation and determination I am hoping to make it to the summit!
The funds raised will be used in both Oxfam Ireland's emergency and long-term work:
- Approx £100 could provide enough food for one month for 5 children orphaned by AIDS. Nourishing food would help by improving their health and well-being.
- Approx £160 could pay for a Farm Pack. A cow, goat, piglets and chickens provide a community with a life-line, improving diets and helping people make a living. Milk, chicks and cheese can be sold to pay for school fees or useful tools.
By donating money, you will be helping Oxfam make a tremendous difference to people's lives in some of the most needy parts of the world. Even if you can only give a few pounds it would be much appreciated.
Thank you so much
