CMS's very own Lord Mayor Fiona Woolf has selected four charities to benefit from the Lord Mayor's Appeal 2014, one of which is Beating Bowel Cancer.
The charity works to support all those affected by the illness, as well as improving awareness of the condition and promoting early diagnosis. Bowel cancer is the UK's second biggest cancer killer with almost 16,000 people dying each year; that's someone every 32 minutes.
To raise money and awareness, a few of us at CMS (Alex Kerr, Lee Donovan, Terry Charalambous, Nicholas Edwards and Arif Khan) are joining the Beating Bowel Cancer campaign "Decembeard". For the entire month of December we are banishing the razor and letting our chin whiskers run free.
