Firstly a HUGE thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As you may already know I volunteer for the Suffolk group of Breakthrough Breast Cancer http://www.suffolkbreakthroughevents.co.uk, I happily give up my time as I feel very passionate about the work that Breakthrough do.

As I am always asking people to help me, I wanted to do my bit and show that I am happy to put myself through it for the cause as well.  Having run 3 marathons, I wanted it to be something completely different, so I am going EXTREME! On the 11th may I will be taking part in Rat Race Dirty Weekend, the worlds largest obstacle course, purpose built at Burghley. 13 miles and 150 obstacles, which are quite frankly terrifying me!  I have added some photos & videos to the gallery to show you the kind of thing I will be attempting! As if that is not enough on the 1st June I will be jumping out of a plane! Flying up to around 13,000ft (approx. 2 miles high!) and then promptly leaving the aircraft, falling at 120mph, to 5,000ft in around just 40 seconds, before opening the parachute and flying safely back to earth!  Just reading that back is making me question if I have in fact lost my mind?!  I would really appreciate your sponsorship to make the craziness worth while!  Any donation no matter how big or small really does make the difference! Sadly, breast cancer is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK – almost 50,000 women and around 400 men are diagnosed every year.  Breast cancer accounts for nearly one in three of all female cancers and one in eight women in the UK will develop breast cancer at some point in their lifetime. Around 1,000 women die of breast cancer every month in the UK. 

Breakthrough Breast Cancer is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to preventing the disease, promoting early and precise diagnosis and developing better treatments and care.  Through a complete understanding of the disease, Breakthrough will continue to develop better treatments to take from the laboratory and into doctors’ hands.  The aim being a future free from the fear of Breast Cancer.
