Och Aye the Noo, Nessie!
This October, I shall be lacing up my trainers and running 26.2 miles, along the banks of Loch Ness, in aid of the Greyhound Awareness League (Scotland). For those of you who have met Morse, this is the charity that rehomed him to us. GAL is run entirely by volunteers who work tirelessly to promote greyhounds as the loving dogs they are and to secure homes for them once their racing careers are over. The average age of a retired greyhound is 4 years old and it doesn't bare thinking about what happens to them without charities such as GAL.
GAL does not receive any government funding and all revenue comes from kind donations from the public. Here's some of the ways your donation will help:
£7.50 will pay for a kennel for a night for a rescued greyhound or lurcher
£35 will pay for vaccination of a rescued greyhound or lurcher
£50 will pay for neutering of a rescued greyhound or lurcher
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
