Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In January this year Michael and I found out we were pregnant, needless to say we were overjoyed. But by February we had not only lost our pregnancy, but had to come to terms with the fact our lost pregnancy was molar.
A molar pregnancy is very rare; for every 1000 live births registered in the UK, only one molar pregnancy is recorded. There are two types of molar pregnancy. A complete mole is where the placenta grows as a series of cysts but there is no foetus. A partial mole is similar but there is evidence of some abnormal foetal development, where the foetus does not survive.
After what I can only describe as an enormously traumatic 6-months, I am now coming to the end of my treatment, and only weeks from final sign off. I was one of the lucky ones, as I didn't require any intensive aftercare such as chemotherapy, unlike some women.
On Wednesday, August 11, I am going to undertake the thrilling experience of a tandem sky dive, and to mark my experience, would like to help raise money for The Miscarriage Association, who acknowledge and support all types of pregnancy loss.
