Hayward House is a Palliative Cancer Care Unit, a "hospice within a hospital". It is dedicated to relieving the suffering of progressive cancer which can be physical, emotional, social or spiritual, and involves both the patients and the family. Patients with motor neurone disease and their families also receive support from the Unit.

The event

Boring stuff over.. Basically what this event consists of is;
A 7 mile run/jog, through water, over walls under nets and with different activities along the way,
25k mountain bike ride
and finally
a 1.5k kayak.

Its designed to be physically demanding and is done in teams of three, its is expected to take around 3-4 hours to complete it all.

Hayward House

Hayward House is a Specialist Palliative Care Cancer Unit in the grounds of the City Campus of Nottingham University Hospital NHS Trust.  It provides high quality care centred on the needs of our patients and their families.  Its aim is to enrich the quality of life through the skills of an experienced and caring team.  Admission may be required for patients who have a more complex mixture of physical, emotional, social or spiritual needs.

Hayward House offers palliative care and continuing care from diagnosis, through the interim periods of advancing disease, up to and including end of life care. Patients' pain and other symptoms are addressed; so too are emotional, spiritual and social problems of both patient and family. An extensive bereavement/counselling service is also provided.  The services offered at Hayward House are complemented by a large number of volunteers who support the services offered across the unit, as well as providing volunteer driver service.

Hayward House in Nottingham is a cause supported greatly by Clifton Detachment, A Company 'The Rifles' Nottingham Army Cadet Force and I would like to help show my support being a member of the next local cadet detachment.

So please sponser, Every little helps.

Thanks :)
