My story

 

 

Hi all,

We'll be running the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon on Sunday, 11th October in aid of Kith & Kids.

Kith & Kids is a charity that works with disabled people and their families and we chose it because it focuses on providing services directly to families.

The charity runs weekend and holiday projects to help disabled people develop new skills and self-confidence, and provides advice and support for their parents, including much needed respite. The charity also runs a friendship scheme, which gives disabled young people the chance to spend time with their peers, and an advocacy scheme to help disabled people speak up for themselves. 

It's a small organisation that was originally set up by two sets of parents. It has since grown and was awarded the Queen's Jubilee Award for voluntary service by groups in the community.

We know this may be the latest in a long line of sponsorship requests, but if this is a charity you'd like to support or you feel for us having to run 13.1 miles, then it would be great to get your support!
