Lonelinessis indiscriminate - it affects people of all ages and backgrounds and can befound in all types of communities. It can lead to a sense of despair, andemotional and mental health problems such as depression and anxiety. In fact,it’s reported to be twice as bad for our health as obesity.

Eachyear, the British Red Cross supports over one million people in the UK. Thecharity is present in all UK communities, providing unquestioning care andsupport to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Togetherthe Co-operative and British Red Cross will deliver radical and lasting changeto support those experiencing loneliness across the UK. Together, we willprovide vital support to the lonely and isolated, reconnecting them to theircommunities and providing life changing care in their homes.
