So for the second year running I'm delighted to represent the charity Blue Cross for Pets at the 2014 UK Forums All Stars Ice Hockey tournament held at Ice-Sheffield on July the 25th and 26th.

Competing in the event last year really highlighted to me the fantastic work that's done over the entire weekend by all the participants, raising a staggeringly large amount of money for the various charities involved, so this year I really want to do my share ! 

The Blue cross is a brilliant charity, running 4 animal hospitals, welfare clinics and a mobile clinic that provide treatment for 30,000 sick and injured pets when they desperately need, coming at at time when their owners couldn't afford private treatment. Not only this, but they also running a wide range of rehoming centres, trying to match up unwated animals with loving homes ! 

Taking part in something like this is one of the rare occasions I can combine my love of ice hockey with doing some good in the world and raising money for a fantastic cause, so I've set myself the challenge of raising £250 online before the tournament starts and I really hope you can help me achieve it ! Any donation (even just £1) would be greatly appreciated and will help fund the charity to continue to provide support for pet owners who cant afford private veterinary treatment, help find new homes for unwanted animals and help promote responsible animal ownership alongside many many other things.

And if your wondering what effect the weekend had on me (other than the friends, stories and general enjoyment of taking part) then meet Brian, our now not so small kitten who needed a home and drew the short straw so ended up with me ! A living example of the great work the blue cross does :)
