CANCER CANCER CANCER
Its everywhere, it's un avoidable.
Francesca Mancini was 19 years old when she was diagnosed with Non- Hodgkin Lymphoma. A cancer of the lymphatic system.
She had major life saving surgery. Removal of a huge tumour in her chest. Then underwent 14 weeks of intensive chemotherapy in The Beatson Scotland Cancer Centre. She never gave up!
The Beatson was her second home for her and her family. I cannot explain what the Beatson means to her. Francesca states- The charity provides a safe place away from clinical hospital surroundings where patients and their families can go to relax, get a coffee and take time away from the ward. The Beatson provides specialist cancer care staff and a range of therapies. This year the Beatson require more funding for the wig fitting service that they want to provide for inpatients.
Francesca has became an Ambassador for the charity. She has asked friends and family to join in her fundraising team #lymphomawarriors. Thats where I come in. She is my brothers girlfriend..she is a remarkable person. She is a warrior! We are aiming to raise a whopping £10,000.
We have different events planned to assist in the the huge target. I am taking part in a sponsered walk and also holding cake sales.
Francesca is honestly selfless. She had devastating news that she was no longer in remmission on 29th of December 2015. She continued in her charity work while being in complete isolation. Her last treatment plan was a stem cell transplant.
She fought cancer twice and WON! It was confirmed that she is in Complete Remission.
