Hi and thanks for visiting (and hopefully donating) my just giving page! Well last year I blamed my stupidity on someone else, this year I have no one else to blame but myself (in reality this is probably always been the case!). So yes, I wanted to go around Edinburgh again, this year I have closer more personal reasons to be supporting my charity and all the good work it performs on a daily basis to thousands of people.

So a little on what I am doing, , last year I achieved £1,222 from a lot of very generous people…….and this made me think, in these tough times, how can I help depart the people I know from their hard earnt cash for another year???  So my stupidity gene kicked in good and proper this time, as I will explain…………………

Last year I managed a disappointing (for me) 5hrs 19mins, so this year I intend to make good on a quicker time (hopefully this will be more than just a minute or two....who knows), but I didn’t think time would impress you enough to depart with that money. So I decided to enter the Brighton Marathon also just to add a bit of spice to my life………..so I figured seeing as I am going through twice the pain, you would be willing to reach across for that sponsorship button on the right hand side of this page again.

So in summary in the months of April and May 2014 i will be aiming to complete two Marathons:- 1) Brighton Marathon on the 6th of April; 2) Edinburgh Marathon on the 25th May (not to mention the three Half Marathons I would have done in preparation for these), all in aid of Macmillan Cancer support…………

Statistically one in three of us will get cancer and it’s the toughest fight most of us will ever face, by sponsoring me & making a donation to Macmillan you will be helping support people and their families living with cancer. I am looking to raise at least £2,000 and would love your support in doing this. £951 could pay for a Macmillan nurse for a week (£15 could pay for 32 copies of The cancer guide, £100 could pay for a Macmillan nurse for four hours & £1,474 could operate Macmillan’s phone service for 2 hours - enough time to answer 54 calls and emails from people who need emotional, practical or financial support)

So the important part – please can you dig deep and donate now, through either of the following ways:

1)      Hit the “Donate” button (remembering to tick the box if you are a tax payer in order for Macmillan to get gift aid and therefore as much money as they possibly can).
