The Challenge

The Druid Challenge 2011 is a multistage race along the oldest roads in the UK, dating back to 3000BC. The route follows the Ridgeway path from Ivinghoe Beacon, Buckingshire to Barbury Castle near Swindon. The event is held over the period 11 - 13 Nov 2011 with partcicpants covering 26 - 29 miles each day. This event is not only a massive personal challenge but is designed to raise money for the Army Widows Association (AWA).

If you would like more information on this event please access the link below;

What is the AWA?

The AWA was formed by a group of Army widows in 2004. It aims to offer support and friendship to those who have sadly lost their husband/wife or recognised partner. The AWA offers its support to all widows bereaved, death can have been as a result of many reasons: illness, conflict, suicide, training accidents. They hold an annual weekend and other events where widows can meet up and meet others who are in the same situation as themselves, and find out lots of information.
