My story

Hello everyone and thanks for visiting my just giving page!

 

Since the beginning of 2009 myself and few others at Northamptonshire CCC have become actively involved in the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA). MNDA were named as the Steelbacks charity of the year for 2009 and since then there have been several fundraising events held by the club and MNDA.  This partnership is in its early days however, and we are hoping to increase our participation in fundraising and increasing awareness of this debilitating disease.  I have been lucky enough to visit the HQ for MNDA in Northampton and it was amazing to see the amount of work which is going on to support people affected by the disease.  The thing which I struggled to comprehend was how little we know about this disease and how little we can do medically to help these unfortunate people.  Hopefully, with your continued support, we will be able to increase our knowledge of this killer and help give some hope to the people affected by it in the future.

 

I have been told that the firewalk will be relatively painless, however, I'm not sure I believe them yet because essentially I will be walking on burning hot coals and wood for 20m!!
