Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Wow, I can't believe it's over! The majority of the race seemed to fly by, at one stage I couldn't believe I'd been running for 3 and a half hours, but then the last 5 miles everything started to ache and I knew I'd been running for over 4 hours! I think the training helped, as I was aiming for 4 and a half hours (4:30:03 to be precise), and I need to thank my brother-in-law Dan Hooper for organising our training plan and our two long runs.
I've seen at first hand what stress and anxiety family members go through when one of their children is poorly and I hope by raising money for WellChild they will continue to provide treatments and cures and also provide support to sick children, their families, and the nursing teams.
Please dig deep and sponsor me online. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: WellChild will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now. My fundraising target is £1,500 and to give you an idea what can be purchased with that money:
· £1,200 purchases a Gaeltec Pressure Transducer, which measures respiration and pulse in tiny premature babies,
· £1,500 purchases a tissue culture incubator that keeps cells alive and healthy for use in cell therapy treatment (replaces diseased or defective cells in cases of liver disease or leukaemia, for example),
· £4,000 purchases a centrifuge machine to separate blood.
Thank you so much for your support, WellChild and I do appreciate it.
