We have had some great donations and are up to £720 now. Thank you to everyone who as donated so far.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running the London Marathon for Brainwave a charity which helps disabled children achieve their potential. For 30 years Brainwave has been helping children achieve a better quality of life. Families with disabled children are invited to a two-day Initial Assessment Visit. During this visit, each child is assessed by a team of therapists, who design a daily Exercise Programme which is specifically suited to the child. This Programme is fully explained and demonstrated to parents and carers to ensure they learn how to carry out the exercises properly. The practising of the exercises is recorded for parent's use at home, supported by a printed Exercise Sheet for reference, and all equipment required is provided. Each child is then re-assessed every four-six months for new Programmes to be designed to allow for further progress. Olly Murs is patron of the charity.

This charity is particularly close to my heart because me and my fiancé best friend’s son Jude attends Brainwave. Jude had a stroke when he was born which caused the left side of his brain to die due to lack of oxygen. As a result he was left unable to use the right side of his body. When Jude began at Brainwave he was unable to use his right hand, Doctor's were unsure if he would walk and the area of damage was so extensive that expectations were low. Amazingly, since attending Brainwave and other programmes, Jude can now run. He is beginning to use his right hand more and more and has now begun to attempt to pick items up with it. I will be running for Jude and Brainwave and am hoping to raise £2500 to pay for his treatment for the following year and to provide the centre with some much needed funding. It is hoped that Jude can improve even more and continue to amaze the medical professionals and physios.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
