Story
Hey Guys & Girls,
Well just want to say thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I know times are hard at the moment with lack of cash!!
Firstly i just want to say the reason i am doing this Skydive on the 13th March is because on the 27th of September 2009 my little sister Sophie who was 15 the time (turned 16, 2 days after) got diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer which was in its last stage and very argessive and had spread to several places of her body............ I Felt like my world had ended i was gutted .....
.........what was going to happen now??
As a family it killed us and we didnt know what to think.... or how sophie was thinking..... but we all pulled together and Sophie was the rock and kept us going (SHE STILL IS NOW!!!) Sophie had several tests and appointments at Christie Hospital to decide what was going to happen next.....
They decided on the type of Chemo she was going to have and her cycle... Then she started her Chemo.... She was on a extremely hard Chemo and it made her quiet ill and she was in and out of The Christie Hospital in Manchester.... for a few months... Sophie then lost her hair which was heart breaking for her and us all (But she still looks gorgeous without it!!)......... then she came out of hospital 2 days before Christmas Eve after 12 days in Non - Stop and she felt fit as a fiddle... Which was great news....
Sophie is still going strong out of hospital and doing normaly things with us all and shes still got that smile on her face (most of the time!!) But she is doing amazing and keeping us all going... On the 12th Jan 2010 we got some good news the Cancer was reducing which gives us more hope.... The main mass had lost 5cm's which is great and exciting news... Im the proudest Brother in the world...!!
Most people do things for people when people dont make it.... but i know Sophie will so im not doing this jump just for her im doing it for EVERY person whos had cancer, lost someone too cancer or knows someone with cancer.... I know Sophie isn't the only person on this planet with it...... its a cruel disease.........
The money i raise is going to go to The Christie Charirty and towards the Young Oncology Unit at The Christie Hospital in Manchester which is for Teenage/ Young Adults who are fighting Cancer and to support their families as its not only the person who has cancer suffering its people round them too...... This unit is FANTASTIC its heart warming what they do... the nurses are AMAZING and do everything they can.... They put their heart and soal into their work and dont get enough praise....!! The money will go towards reasearching Cure's for Cancer at the Hospitals brand new research unit being built....and towards helping Young People lead a normal life and supporting them in doing so....
So i ask you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give as much as possible and help me with rasing money towards this fantastic cause...
THANK YOU
Love Leon xx
