DUQC 24 Hour Basketball Match · 29 May 2016

Established in 1981, the Newman Holiday Trust began by running a one week summer holiday for children with special needs. The Trust now provides holidays for about 130 children with special needs aged four to sixteen each year, in various locations around the UK. Due to the high level of skilled care they require or financial circumstances, the children selected for these breaks would not otherwise receive a holiday. The holidays provide a range of fun activities in a safe and supportive environment and use a care ration of one helper to one child at all times. The Trust is an entirely voluntary organization and owes its success to over 200 people who dedicate their free time to helping these children. This voluntary structure ensures that every penny raised goes directly towards a child's holiday.

Story

Last year I was crazy enough to take part in a 24 hour football match for charity....this year I'M DOING IT ALL OVER AGAIN. On the 29th May I will join a massive team of students playing in a 24 hour basketball match raising money for Newman Holiday Trust, which is a wonderful charity that works tirelessly to provide holidays for children across the UK who struggle with special needs. The organisation is run by a team of super volunteers who dedicate their time to helping youngsters have fun. Please help me to help them help others.
