At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

In July I will be joining a number of my colleagues in cycling form London to Paris, a total of 180 miles over the course of three days to raise money for the Alzheimer's society.

My father Hypolito Mergulhao passed away on the 10th June 2018. I intend to do this ride in his memory.

But learning about how much fantastic work the Alzheimer's society do daily for so many people throughout the UK inspired me to get cracking and help any way that I can. Unfortunately one person is diagnosed with dementia every three minutes in the UK, often without warning and it can affect people of all ages.

All money raised will be doubled by HSBC so please dig deep in the knowledge that every donation will have a bigger positive impact and provide vital care, attention and research into a problem much bigger than certainly I ever realised we faced.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
