Next April I`m attempting the Marthon Des Sable (click on video to see) , my Wife Clare thinks I`m mad to do it and is making sure all insurance policies are up to date (thats confidence for you!). The race is over 7 days, 240 km through the Sahara Desert with temperatures of over 40 degrees. Blisters, dehydration and fatigue all there to slow you down. You also have to carry all your own food, cooking utensils, sleeping bag, clothing, survival kit including flares and even an anti venom kit just in case the sun dont get you the scorpions or snakes might! I`ve seen seen pictures of competitors feet during and after the race and some have trouble standing let alone run. This event really will test me both physically and mentally.

I have decided that if I was going to do this tough event I need to do it for a local charity "Swindon Therapy Centre for Multiple Sclerosis", they are about to move into new premises so they can help more people from Swindon and the surrounding area have a better quality of life. They rely on donations to keep them going, so please could you dig deep and help? As one day it may be you or a family member who may need their help.
