I trekked to Everest Base Camp trek and ran/ hobbled the NY Marathon over the last month. Yes it was self indulgent but I financing it all myself and I will be putting in a substantial top up to the monies raised. Anne in particular, and I occasionally, have helped the NSPCC for years. You all know what a great cause it is but just one key fact - one third of the 2.3 million calls to Childline go unanswered each year due to lack of funds. It costs £100 to answer 25 calls and it costs £1600 to train a volunteer counsellor to answer calls, so we can make a big difference. Monies raised will go the Child's Voice Appeal which directly addresses this issue.
