Well I have now completed my FIRST half marathon! 

My training paid off. I completed the route in 2 hours 9 mins - far exceeding my expectations. Perhaps it was the kind weather and the downhill incline of the route!

The Aviemore Half Marathon was a particularly scenic and friendly event. Great because it is a trail race through forrests and on bike trails, and also great because it was kinder on the legs! I found the whole experience very friendly and supportive, well organised with a wonderful shower at the end. I recommend this event, and I feel quite motivated to line up again next year.

An important part of my challenge was to raise money for Speyside Trust. Each £200 raised enables a person with profound disabilities to enjoy an outdoor holiday at Badaguish Respite Care Centre. I am nearly there.
