Story

Thank you to everyone who sponsored me to run the Alloa Half Marathon. I survived!!! I may now lose a few toenails and I'm struggling to walk but it was well worth it. Really enjoyed the run and was great to have my own support team cheering me on. It made such a big difference.

I did it in 2 hours 10 minutes - Go me!!!

x

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I first met Sam in 2003 when he had just turned 3 years old and had officially been diagnosed with Autism. I joined a small team of people brought together by Sam's family to help them teach Sam the skills needed to reach his full potential. Sam was an absolute star and probably taught me more than I taught him. I don't teach Sam anymore but he remains a very important person in my life and his family remain great friends of mine.

Lothian Autistic Society have been a great help to Sam and his family over the years offering support and respite when needed. Therefore, when thinking of ways in which I can continue to help Sam, and other families coping with autism, I figured a half marathon in aid of LAS was a good place to start, and where better to do it but my home town of Alloa.

I've ran a few 10ks before and I am always glad to see the finishing line. However, this time, when I get to 10k, I know I have the whole thing to do again - aarrggghhh! My body aches at the thought! Please help keep me motivated through my training, and the race itself, by digging deep and donating now.

Thank you everyone!

Les -x-

6/02/12: Just back from my second sports massage to help fix my body. Yes I'm broken and there are still 6 weeks to go to race day. Keep the sponsorship coming so I don't give up! I'll be back on track with my training in no time. x
