As you all probably know, I lost my Dad, Eric Higgins to Pneumococcal Meningitis on 22nd December 2008 - He was only 58 years old.

Last year we took part in the Big Fun Run at Sefton Park to raise money for a fantastic cause, the Meningitis Research Foundation. After loosing Dad the Meningitis Research Foundation got in touch with us and offered us support and material to help us understand more about Meningitis and how quickly it can kill people, Its something I had never associated with adults until I lost my Dad...

So, This year myself, My husband Tony and my 2 beautiful boys Ellis and Luke, along with the rest of my family will, once again be taking part in the Big Fun Run in memory of my lovely Dad.....

• £10 - 1 hour of in-depth support
• £25 - 1 hour of a typical research project
• £100 - 20 information packs for GP surgeries and health professionals
