So Leya is going to be dressing as a superhero and participating in a little toddle to raise money for the amazing Gold Dust Appeal to make the children's ward at Derriford better for all their visitors!! 

This cause is very close to our hearts as Leya has spent most her short life on Plymouths Childrens ward whether it was in the assessment unit, Woodcock or HDU. Leya was diagnosed with Bilateral Vocal Paralysis at 2 months and it became quickly apperent that she needed a Tracheostomy. This was done at Derriford by their amazing ENT team and then we spent many months on HDU and Woodcock with their outstanding nurses learning to care for Leya and her new added extra. 

I can not explain how supportive, loving and caring the staff that looked after Leya were and still are when we have the occasional visit. She knows each of the HDU staff as if they were family and loves seeing them. They were just as amazing with myself and Dan when it came to supporting us in what was a massive step in our lives. The love and care they showed to our daughter and us while we went through this tough time will never be forgotten and I still constantly thank them now, but this is Leya's way of saying cheers and giving them a massive thumbs up!! 👍

Leya still often ends up on the childrens ward and we would love even if its a little if you could donate to help reach their target to revamp what is already an outstanding childrens ward to make it totally out of this world!!
