My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Please follow my progress on my blog: http://liamlejog.blogspot.co.uk.

I'm getting out of the Army after nine glorious years.  I've completed my service unscathed, but many have not been so lucky.  Walking With the Wounded is a UK based charity which funds both the re-training and re-education of wounded servicemen and women with the aim of helping them find long term employment after they have left the Armed Forces.  The WWTW undertakes extremely arduous expeditions manned by wounded service personnel, including Everest 2012.

One of the Everest 2012 team members is my colleague Captain David Wiseman, who was shot while in Afghanistan. Clearly I would have loved to have joined David on Everest, but I was discouraged both by his chat the lack of good B&Bs above 8000m.

I will depart Land's End on 10 May 12 with only my Army Bergen, a small tent and my inbuilt 'man compass'.  I aim to arrive in John O'Groats around 10 July 12 after a walk of 1100 miles.

Any support you can provide will be immensely appreciated by those who are trying to rebuild their lives after being wounded in action.

Thanks.

Liam

My updates 2

I'm delighted to say that I reached John O'Groats on the evening of 19 July after a spectacular final walk above the cliffs of the Caithness coast. Thanks to all you sponsors who have been so generous.
