Story

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am aiming to ride the Dartmoor Classic sportive - a prestigious open-road cycling event over the Dartmoor hills, in order to raise money for MNDA along with some others here at Investec Bank.

The total distance is 67 miles over beautiful Dartmoor countryside and its very steep hills. A total elevation gain of 6,191 feet puts this at nearly twice the height of Mount Snowdon. It won't be easy by any feat particularly as I ahven't been training nearly as much as I would normally...!

That all said, what I am attempting is a very small price to pay compared to the lives of thousands who have to battle against Motor Neuron's disease every single day.

MND is life-shortening and there is no cure. Although the disease will progress, symptoms can be managed to help achieve the best possible quality of life.

There is a 1 in 300 risk of getting MND across a lifetime. It can affect adults of any age, but is more likely to affect people over 50.

MND affects everyone differently. Not everyone has all the symptoms, or in the same order, and the speed at which symptoms progress can vary. Seek help from your health and social care professionals at the first sign of any change.

MND cannot be stopped or reversed, but therapies, equipment and medication can help manage symptoms. These can all help you achieve the best possible quality of life.

Please help the battle against this disease by donating to my fundraising page today.

Thank you.
