This may be silly. But have no time constraints today. So I might just knock out 100 lengths! #dontionshelpmeswim

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I remember many years ago sat in my school hall listening to a lady from St Lukes talk about how they needed money for a project that they wanted to do. Soon after as a school we did a sponsored walk around the field for them. Over the subsequent months and maybe even years I watched the large thermometer they had built outside the Hospice fill as they searched for that illusive target for a large sum of money that to a 7-8 year old boy was incomprehendable.

Fastforward 25 years and the Hospice is still there, it still needs funding, except this time its not for a project, its to give back for the treatment a terminally ill family member is currently receiving.

This challenge is not easy for me, far from it.  I have not swum a length of a pool in nearly 5 years and have not swum a substaintial distance in nearly 15 years.

The challenge itself is a lap of the IOM TT course which is 37 3/4 miles long.  The challenge is set over 12 weeks and I need to compleate 2416 lengths.  This equates to around 200 legnths a week (3 miles/5km).  I am aiming to be in the pool 3 times a week. This isn't just a case of turn up one time and swimming, I have to push my body to work the levels it once did 15 years ago when I was 18 and almost half my weight and that my donors is an unknown!

So please, help me, help my relative, help a worthy charity.  If I can raise just £1 for every 100 lengths that I do it will mean so much to us all.

Thank you for your time....

and your money!
