Well the marathon came and went in a flash so to speak with a sinus infection and all I managed a very rewarding time 03:34:25 which I am very happy with. Now I have done my job make sure you do yours and donate as much as possible!! Many thanks again!
I have been saying since I got the sports bug in 2010 that my goal was to do the London Marathon 2012. Following offers from several charities I decided to chose AfghanAid because of the amazing work that they do. This year I will complete the London Marathon, The Virgin London Olympic Distance Triathlon and a 20km 40+ Obstacle Spartan 'Beast' Race all you need to do is get your debit card out.
In Summary Afghanistan has been in a constant state of conflict for almost 60 years, whether it be the old USSR fighting over ownership, the USA giving them guns to fight the 'Communists' during the cold war, opium drug lords ruling many parts of the country, Taliban law that degrades many especially Women & Girls or now the 'War on Terror' Afghanistan has literally been raped and pillaged for generations. The worst thing is when a woman is raped in Afghanistan she is seen as the one who cheated or is in the wrong, then she's usually killed, or if she's let off lightly she is burned with acid or has her nose cut off, exciled from the community or stoned to within an inch of her life, sickening I know.
Many people will think AfghanAid is helping terrorists and criminals but I can assure you from working hand in hand with local people and communities that need skills, education, support, microloans, empowerment, justice & a chance for a future AfghanAid makes a difference in places that others wouldn't dare to step foot. It is known that Afghanistan is one of the most dangerous places on earth they have been there for 10,344 days and counting.
With my legs and your donations we can make such a huge difference to a country that really needs it. Fighting for Social, Economic and Political rights AfghanAid WORKS!

Afghanaid has worked with Afghan communities since 1983 to address the issues of poverty. Through 300 local staff it works in agriculture, animal health, micro-finance, income generation, basic health education and women's resource centres.
