As part of BBC Radio Manchester's Million Pound Appeal for The Christie I've decided to take on a personal challenge. It's about 25 miles from the centre of Runcorn to Castlefield in Manchester if you follow the Bridgewater Canal. So I'm grabbing a one man kayak and paddling the entire length in a day. 

It's going to take about 8 hours and just to make it a little more chilly, I'm doing it on November 1st. Chilly.
