Story
I was invited to take part in a 70-mile (112km) charity cycle ride, taking place in a loop around the beautiful English landscapes of Windsor.
With the promise of a pint at the finish line and the company of a few close friends, it didn’t take much persuasion. It just so happened to be in aid of a good cause, so all the more reason to get involved.
We completed it over the course of a rare and welcome sunshine filled day, in a month that has been swamped with nothing but showers. There were no major casualties, but certainly a few narrow escapes. A touch of drama too, with accidental off road de-tours over hillsides and roadside punctures to boot. However blood and tears were kept to a fair minimum and we all made it across the finish line to a few cheers and a warm beverage!
The fantastic workers and volunteers for ‘Standing together’ put in lots of effort. I felt particularly privileged to have taken part.
So, many thanks to the folks who have organised the event and made this fundraise possible.
I'll be there again next year.
There's still plenty of time to donate and help reach the £112 target, all your help is sincerely appreciated.
Thanks again,
Liam.
