Story
Hi, my name is Liana and I will be doing the 10k Race For Life on the 22nd June at Crystal Palace.
The reason is very simple, over my 25 years I've lost a lot of loved ones from various illnesses but in September last year my younger cousin (23 at the time) was diagnosed with Leukaemia.
Being old enough to understand the severity of the diagnosis I was scared, angry, confused (and these are only three of the things I felt). I couldn't make sense of why this was happening, I still can't get my head around it.
I watched my cousin over months remain positive, with a constant smile on her face giving everyone else advice and making us laugh. And after 34 long days spent in hospital, months of treatment and countless amounts of tests, she has beaten this awful Cancer. I'm honestly humbled by her courage and the journey that she's gone through, and is still going through. No one can ever truly understand the emotions that you must experience as a person being diagnosed with such an awful thing, but one thing I can share with family and friends is joy and relief! I'm overjoyed that her story is a positive one for us to share!
So everyone, the moral of the story is, life is way too short and you never know what's around the corner!
We've wanted to be a part of Race For a life for a long time, and we're finally doing it. I would really appreciate your support, and anything that you can donate would be hugely appreciated.
