We help the babies, children and young people treated at Scotland's largest children's hospital, the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow. We fund medical equipment, research, play programmes and family support services to ensure that our young patients receive the best possible care and experience.

Story

In memory of our amazing and brave Darius.

Darius was born on the 5th of March 2014.
He was a content little bundle of joy who brought so much happiness to our entire family, especially his big brother Omid.

It wasn’t until we approached his first birthday that we started to have concerns about his development. And unfortunately things went downhill from there.

After a series of appointments and investigations we found out that our little boy had atrophy of cerebellum.
Investigations continued to try and understand why and how this could happen.
Despite the best efforts of many specialist at the Glasgow Children’s Hospital and input from colleagues in Newcastle and London we never found a solid diagnosis. Many suspected however, a very rare form of Mitochondrial Disease, which has little to no treatment and no cure.
We made Darius’ short life as full of love and happiness as we could. As he brought so much joy and love to everyone that was lucky enough to know him.
On the 20th of March 2016, we lost our beautiful boy. Throughout all the ordeals of operations, general anaesthesia, NG tubes, NJ tubes and needles our brave Darius hardly cried or moaned, he was our superhero.
We only hope in the weeks, months and years that follow we can be as brave as he was.

We now raise money for children like Darius and their families. Children who have rare and undiagnosed conditions that have the most complex needs.
The Glasgow children’s hospital charity allows all these patients to feel like children and families feel part of a community rather than feeling isolated.
Not only does the charity fund medical equipment and research they provide entertainment, toys and amazing experiences for all the patients in the hospital. We are so happy to support a hospital and charity that have given Darius the best care they possibly could. They have supported our family tremendously after Darius’ passing and for that I can’t thank them enough.
