Story
2012 is set to be a challenging year, along with turning 30 (which I’m still in denial about) I’ve signed up to complete 12 sporting challenges over the 12 months all in aid of HOPEHIV.
I know, what have I gone and got myself into this time?! But when you see the difference this charity makes to support orphans and young people affected by HIV and AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa I hope it’ll have you digging deep. www.hopehiv.org
You’ll have heard me say how terrible I am at swimming, with pregnant women and the elderly over taking me so I definitely have a challenging year ahead as I’m set to do my first triathlon in September, requiring me to swim in open water!!!!
I will be closing the year in Africa, climbing Table Mountain, and visiting some of the project beneficiaries who are challenging us to a football match and surfing contest...think I already know who will win that!
I still have some spaces to fill, so if you know of any crazy challenges you’d like me to complete please let me know. Otherwise my current challenges are:
January – Tough Guy
February – Dog Sledding in Norway (16k)
March – Windsor Half Marathon
April – Macchu Picchu Incal Trail
May – London to Brighton night ride (60 miles)
June – London Ride of champions (90 miles)
July – No event - 2 in August:
August – Three Peaks Challenge & Gorge Walking
September – London Triathlon
October – Commando challenge
November – Men's Health - Survival of the Fittest
December – TBC
It's going to be a big year for my team mates and I, so please do all you can to support us! Whether that’s in sponsorship, cheering us on at the events or forcing me out to train come rain or shine! To check out our full team events list visit www.the12in12.com.
Thank you for your support.
