We raise funds for Camden School for Girls to improve arts and sports for all pupils

Story

At Camden School for Girls we were asked to think of fundraising ideas.

Millie and I decided that swimming the English Channel was a worthwhile challenge (not too sure now) and set about getting this organised. We secured a pilot boat (thanks Eddie), persuaded the school to get behind this and cajoled some other year 8 girls to join the adventure.

We have been cold water training in the Serpentine most weekends and are please that the temperature is now in double figures so we can at last swim some longer distances.

In June we commenced our Dover training. Then it became real.

The swim is scheduled for August 27th but the weather and sea conditions will determine the exact date.

About the charity

We are a London school set up in 1871 with a long tradition of providing excellent education & opportunities for all pupils (including boys in the 6th Form) within the state system. We want to continue to do so in the face of reductions in government funding, prioritising our science labs and ICT.
