So in October this year I will be travelling to Nepal with a team of ActionAid volunteers to support the rebuild of Bani Bilas High school, which was severely damaged by the 2015 Earthquakes.

Following the rebuild I have decided to continue the trip to trek to Everest Basecamp. For those that know me, they will understand how much of a challenge this will be (I am pretty lazy) so will be training hard throughout the year to make sure I am fit enough for long days of trekking and high altitudes!

As I have been on the ActionAid Guernsey Committee for a couple of years now, more recently becoming Vice-Chair, this project is very close to my heart. I will be supporting the charity over the year to completely fund the rebuild of the school, providing children with a safe place to learn in a disaster resilient school. My fundraising target of £1,500 will go directly towards this. I will be paying all my own travel costs.
