<p>EAB is Evangelical Action Brazil. This is an organisation I am involved with that does incredible work to help people in the poorest part of NE Brazil.</p>
<p>I am aiming to raise £500 for a Care centre there. Because of the economic situation and the falling pound, it is becoming increasingly difficult to fund this project. Here are some more details of how the centre helps people -</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">The Centre costs £1,000 per month to run. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">Objectives of Project:</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">Free dental care for the very poor and special needs folk who need extra love and care in treatment.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">Distribution of toothbrush and paste kits and visits to schools to teach dental hygiene and carry out the application of flouride.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">STD/HIV/AIDS awareness and support. The Centre runs a referral centre for those diagnosed HIV positive and gives loving support to these people including food from the Centre's Food Bank. The Centre runs occupational therapy courses and helps participants develop handicraft skills so as to generate income and greater self-esteem.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">Food bank - collects left over food from supermarkets and the rich to distribute to the desperately poor.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">Senior Citizens - are supported at the centre and a weekly club is run with occupational therapy. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">Special Needs People - are especially catered for at the Centre with a well-developed work with the deaf whose group meets weekly. Intepreters are provided for the deaf who need medical attention so that the doctors can understand them. Much work is done to find employment for deaf adults through negotiations with shops and businesses.</span></p>
