As many of you will already know, I am undertaking a year of challenges, not bad for nearly 62!
* The Manchester 10k in May 2011
* A half marathon walk in June 2011
* The Great North Run in September 2011
* A 5-day Trek of The Great Wall of China in October 2011
The reason behind my decision to undertake these challenges is to raise much needed funds for a charity close to my heart - The Brittle Bone Society.
When Amy was born, Phil and I had never heard of the rare condition (Osteo Genesis Imperfecta), never mind know how to deal with a tiny baby whose doctor couldn't confirm what the future would hold for her. However, we were lucky to be quickly put in touch with the BBS who offered unrelenting support and advice. They helped us ensure we treated Amy no differently to her older sister, Lynsey and how to support her to live a full and active life, which many of you know, she pursues to the upmost!
Without the BBS, I am sure my family would have struggled, particularly in the early years. Therefore, I would like to show my gratitude to the BBS and help ensure their tireless work continues for years to come.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
