Story

<p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Motivation was not high on my agenda having endured hours of foot surgery over the past 4 years. I'd fallen into 'the trap' of a sedentary lifestyle, but reality 'hit' the day I visited the GP and left with a prescription and warning. </span></span></p> <p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="font-size: small;">In one of many efforts to improve my health I visited the local sports store to purchase trainers with the intention of walking to get fit, picking up a booklet I flicked through the pages, saying 'that&rsquo;s what I need to motivate me, knowing that through me getting fit<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I could make a difference to other peoples lives'.</span></span></p> <p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">I took the booklet home and picked it up from the coffee table flicked through the pages, put it down, questioning; 'can we, can't we, but what if! </span></span></p> <p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">I searched the web, read and watched the veterans and their families talking about the support and help that Blind Veterans UK give to ex-Service people and their families.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">There are three residential assessment centres and having visited the charities offices in London, I went to St.Dunstans in Brighton to meet some of the ex-service men and woman who had risked everything to protect our freedom, came home safely, but lost their sight and their independence. </span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">In Brighton, I found a community of people who understand what sight loss means, give expert support, specialist rehabilitation, a place to stay, respite care and much much more</span></span></p> <p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">No one should have to battle because of blindness nor lose their independence. </span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">So come on, support me in my effort to get fit and make a difference to our blind veterans by donating as little or as much as you can give and make a difference today...</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: small;"> </span></p>
