We have chosen Chai Cancer Care as the Charity we would like to support to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary.

Chai Cancer Care is the only organisation that provides comprehensive services to the Jewish cancer patient, their family and friends to enable them to gain some control over their lives following a cancer diagnosis.

In 2009 demand for Chai's services has more than doubled. Each month it is meeting 60 new clients across the 4 sites in Hendon, Redbridge, South London (Nightingale) and Manchester (Heathlands in partnership with The Fed). At any one time Chai is supporting over 1,150 clients. 

Chai Cancer Care offers a holistic approach, treating the 'patient' rather than the 'disease'. Each client is individually assessed before receiving the most appropriate service for the individual/ family members personal situation. "Care packages" might include  a selection of complementary therapies including acupuncture, Physiotherapies, Manual Lymphatic Drainage and a variety of Therapeutic massages all provided by professionals trained specically in dealing with cancer or individual or group counselling sessions. Chai provides clients with a wide range of expert advisory services; advocacy, nutrition, legal, financial and spiritual. Clients may chose to attend group activites such as pilates or meditation, post surgery exercise classes or support groups.

Chai receives no statutory funding and is entirely reliant on the generosity of donors to ensure that it is able to continue to meet the growing demand in the future.
