Story
I'm part of a group of Civil Service Fast Streamers (aka Team Chromosome) raising money for Mind, the mental health charity.
Mental health issues are a concern for us all, whether effecting ourselves or others we know. Over the course of this year, a quarter of us will suffer from a mental issue. These are extraordinarily difficult to experience in themselves, but also have knock on effects for physical health, employment, and relationships that can form a downward spiral.
Mind is the UK's major, nationally-reaching mental health charity: supporting sufferers, raising awareness, and advocating to our country's decision-makers. It's a cause close to me: having personally experienced depression, supported others going through even tougher experiences, and heard all about Mind's efforts against tough odds when my partner worked there last year. They are so important for many of the most vulnerable members of our society, and yet the charity never has the resources to help in all of the ways it wishes to.
The main project I'm leading on will be a mini-festival, at Proud Camden, on 31st March 2016. More information here: https://www.facebook.com/events/763289643805038/
In the meantime, feel free to donate... let's get Mind the hard cash they need!
