Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I've been talked into taking part on the "On Yer Bike" spinathon by my friend Jen.  Many of you know that me and bikes aren't always the best of friends so my two hour shift  is going to be a bit of a challenge!

"On Yer Bike" is a 24 hour session of back to back spinning classes in memory of Jen's husband Paul.  Paul was diagnosed with a brain tumour just five months after he and Jen got married, in February 2010.  Paul and Jen faced a 4.5 year battle with bravery courage and lots of humour but Paul sadly passed away on 20th June 2014.

"On Yer Bike" started as a small ambition in 2012 and grew as a way of celebrating Paul's enthusiasm for a good time and bringing people together.  "On Yer Bike 2015" will be no different, bringing hope for a cure to the many people affected by brain tumours.  This year's event date is special - it would have been Paul's 38th birthday.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
